Roughly 72 hours until Aaron and I wed! Here's a run down on the foodie details of the day.
I am beyond thrilled to have found Food Matters. A family owned, sustainability-centered, restaurant in the Cameron Station neighborhood of Alexandria.
During cocktail hour we will munch on a crudites with green goddess dressing and a cheese platter consisting of artisanal cheeses, walnut bread and other accompaniments. The local goats cheese is fab, though I'm not sure how it will go over with crowd.
The main meal is a series of appetizers. Whole white bean bruschetta, mushroom and sundried tomato bruschetta, meatballs in marinara, chicken skewers with chipotle bbq sauce, smoked paprika deviled eggs and jerk shrimp with hot malagueta pepper sauce. I'm predicting the deviled eggs and the shrimp will be the show stopper.
Mmmm...can't wait to eat (and wed)!
P.S.
I'll update the post with pics later.
