My second PC gig...the run down
Shopped at Kingstowne farmers market Friday evening. I was thrilled that most of the produce on my list was right there - fresh and local. Asperagus, spring onions, sweet yellow onions, red onions, snap peas, kale, chard.
[I picked up a few personal treasures, too - 4 quarts of strawberries for preserves, 2 bundles of asperagus for the freezer. I decided to stock up in case s-berries and my green spears of love are gone when we get back from Jamaica.]
I dropped of all of the yummy's at home and then we grabbed dinner at BGR before heading to Trader Joes. [The BGR veggie burger will be replicated in my kitchen very soon. Rice, beans, smokey flavor = yum!] At TJ I got non-local produce and organic whole chicken and chicken thighs.
Here's the menu that my client (aka my MIL) chose.
Herb Roasted Chicken
Orange Chicken Satay
Broccoli Cheese Casserole
Rice and Chard Gratin
French Onion Soup
Sides: roasted asperagus, braised kale, roasted sweet potato mash
